Cittaslow

I watched a program here in France about the relatively new Slow City movement as it is happening in one Turkish city. Is this something we should be considering for Southern Village and Chapel Hill? I don't mean joining this specific network necessarily or at all - but rather, adopting some of the ideas that are behind the movement, an offshoot of the Slow Food movement, also originating in Italy.
