Weekend/evening bus service

Why can't we get weekend and evening bus service, very limited schedule, to Southern Village? I am one resident who would use it. Is there anyone else? Yesterday, for example - I walked to UNC for an event there and walked back. In bad weather, I would not have had the bus alternative.
