Wires
What are all the wires that run along 15-501 in front of Southern Village? How many of them supply electricity, telephone, etc to Southern Village as opposed to something further up or down the line? What would happen if an accident or a storm severed most of them? How would that affect us?

Nothing here explaining the fitness course or the reason so many trees and shrubs were cut by the soccer fields?

Repairs on trail, in park?
The paved trail next to Scroggs is surely to wash out one day. What is the Chapel Hill parks and recreation department doing about this? Bill WEBSTER? And why are there repeated large tire tracks on the sides of the concrete sidewalk closer to the parking lot? Can't they use smaller vehicles for whatever they do there?

The Daily Tar Heel :: Rights-of-way narrowed, Weaver Dairy Road projects heard at meeting
Still not sure what this will mean. Surer than ever that dumping the Mayor was the right thing for us voters to do!

Why Chapel Hill has new leadership | News & Observer
I sent the author this note:
"I read your piece in the N&O today about the Chapel Hill
election. Thank you for doing this as it sets forth a clear description of what
happened Tuesday. If I were the Mayor-elect and the new Council members, I
would frame it for their walls so as to be reminded frequently starting in
December of why they are in office, and what we expect of them.
What you wrote was refreshing and encouraging and I just
wanted to tell you so directly! (We live in Southern Village, fyi – a
tragically good example of the segregated part of heaven that is Chapel Hill
today.)"
